When we lived in SE Asia, finding a tasty and not overly sweet "hamburger" buns was hard. So I had to bake from scratch, a lot! These are my go to hamburger buns and crescent rolls. The crescent rolls I've made pigs in a blanket. Some really cosy pigs in there! I hope you enjoy this extended video and excuse my choppy words. Thank you and enjoy! Tasty Crescent Rolls and Hamburger Buns Adapted recipe from Allrecipes submitted by Charlene Kaunert 5 cups (640 g) all-purpose flour 2 1/2 teaspoon instant yeast 1 cup (250 g) milk 3/4 cup (177 g) water 1/2 cup (120 g) vegetable oil or (113 g) butter, melted 1/4 cup (50 g) white sugar or less 1 teaspoon salt 2 Tablespoons of melted butter Directions: 1. In a large bowl, stir together 2 cups flour and yeast. In a small pot, heat milk, water, oil, sugar and salt to lukewarm. You can also heat up in a microwave in a microwave safe bowl. 2. Add all at once to the flour mixture, and beat until smooth. About 3 minutes. 3. Mix in enough flour to make a soft dough. 2 to 3 cups. Mix well. Dust a flat surface with flour, turn dough out onto floured surface, and let rest under bowl for another 10 minutes. 4. For hamburger buns: shape dough into 12 slightly flat balls, and place in grease baking sheet to rise until doubled in size about 40 minutes. Before baking, brush cool melted butter atop of hamburger buns and sprinkle with sesame seeds (optional). 5. Bake in a preheated oven 400 degrees F / 200 degrees C, until top golden brown, 10-15 minutes. Remove from from pan to wire racks to cool. For crescent dinner rolls: 1. Divide the dough in half. Roll each portion into a 12 inches (30.48 centimeters) circle; cut each circle into 12 wedges. 2. Roll up wedges from the wide end and place point side down 2 inches (5 centimeters) apart of a greased baking sheets. Curve ends to form crescents. 3. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled about 30 minutes. Before baking, brush cool melted butter atop the crescent rolls. 4. Bake in a preheated oven 400° degrees F / 200° degrees C, until golden brown, 10-15 minutes. Remove from pan to wired racks to cool. #tastycrescentrolls #homebaked #hamburgerbuns
