Today I'm doing a Dark Phoenix movie review, to coincide with the release of New Mutants, and I'll be discussing why Dark Phoenix is bad. Dark Phoenix takes place in the 1990’s and sees Jean Grey, played again by Sophie Turner, absorb solar flare-like energy during a rescue mission in space. Her powers begin to amplify but her emotional state deteriorates, and a new personality, known as the Phoenix, takes over. While the X-Men do what they can to save her, a mysterious alien, played by Jessica Chastain, has other plans for her.
