✨ Third Sunday of Advent | December 14, 2025 Theme: Joy Can’t Wait Augusta Heights Baptist Church On this Third Sunday of Advent, we gathered to light the Candle of Joy, using a liturgy from A Sanctified Art’s “What Can’t Wait.” As we sang “O Come, Thou Dayspring,” we named the longing for joy that breaks through darkness and reminds us that God’s promises are already stirring among us. Scripture readings from Isaiah 35:1–10 and Matthew 11:2–11 guided our worship, pointing us toward a joy that is deeper than circumstances—a joy rooted in hope, healing, and God’s faithfulness. Through carols like O Come, All Ye Faithful, Angels We Have Heard on High, and Joy to the World, the congregation lifted voices in anticipation of Christ’s coming. A special moment of delight came through the Children’s Choir, who shared “Happy Birthday, Jesus” and “I’ll Give Him My Heart,” reminding us that Advent joy is often found in simple, sincere faith. In the message “Joy Can’t Wait,” Eric Bebber invited us to see joy not as something postponed until everything is perfect, but as a gift we are called to receive and practice right now. A poetic reflection, “Joy Chose You,” closed the service with a reminder that joy meets us exactly where we are. As Advent continues, we celebrate the truth that joy is already breaking in—and it can’t wait.
