Top 10 Wasted X-Men Characters in the Fox Marvel Universe | FOX X-Men characters that disappointed

Now that the monumental deal bringing the X-Men back to Disney/Marvel is underway, the League's own get together for a moment of reflection. Hazyrome and Deepboyce look through more than a decade's worth of X-Men FOX films to determine who were the Top 10 Wasted characters of the FOX/Marvel film Universe. When it comes to the X-Men on the silver screen, the track record is spotty at best. Now that is not to say there have not been any standout films by way of FOX. The first X-Men film (Waaaaaaaaaaay back in the year 2000) was quite frankly monumental, and many can argue set the tone for modern takes on the genre. Seeing not just one but an entire group of iconic characters on screen was an absolute joy for fans back then. This first film holds a special place in our hearts for adapting X-Men characters like Wolverine, Cyclops, Magneto and Professor Xavier. The first X-Men film also succeeded in setting the stage for what many here at the Spectacular Spoiler League consider one of THE BEST Superhero films ever, X2: X-Men United. FOX came in swinging with an awesome adaptation of the iconic X-Men villain, William Stryker who posed a threat to the X-Men team, the student's at Xavier's institute and Mutants throughout the world. While cracks were beginning to show in FOX's portrayal of the X-Men, this film kept us hooked with baller action sequences and gripping character interaction, helping take what the first film did and solidify this franchise as a hit. Unfortunately things took a turn for the worst. Following the critical and commercial success of X2, FOX released X-Men: The Last Stand which served to completely tank the franchise. Bad acting, laughable action, and an ultimately unsatisfying plot left the X-Men film franchise on the brink of extinction. The pain for fans however wouldn't end there, as they treated to X-Men Origins: Wolverine, one of THE WORST superhero films to grace movie theaters. Thankfully the X-Men film franchise would see renewed critical success with a reboot of sorts in X-Men: First Class and a phenomenal sequel X-Men: Days of Future Past. All of this bolstered by two amazing solo Wolverine films (The Wolverine and Logan) and one of FOX's biggest commercial successes, Deadpool. Despite all of this it seems the X-Men are yet again on the ropes, after the wet-fart of a film X-Men: Apocalypse yet again set the franchise down a bad path. Throughout the ups and downs characters have flourished but they've also flustered, so we hope you enjoy this list of 10 we feel did not get the respect they deserved.
