Relaxing plant-powered Halloween music: put some CHILLS in your chill-out!

Relaxation music with a Halloween twist! Reduce the holiday stress and create some spookily soothing ambience with softly wailing banshees, whistling wind and ghostly reverberations… This piece was written especially for my Halloween-loving friends Leticia and Alice, but I hope that it will bring some haunting relaxation to all you Halloween lovers out there :-) This composition was a collaboration between myself and a moonflower (Datura stramonium) growing wild in my garden. Beautiful but poisonous, with moon-pale flowers that open only at night, she was the perfect partner for my Halloween creation! The level of activity inside the plant’s leaves was translated into musical sound by a Plantwave device, and this forms the heart of the music. I then rounded out the soundscape, tweaked a little here and there and generally caressed what the moonflower expressed into the finished piece that you can listen to here. (Note: the moonflower determined the pitch and timing of the notes, but I crafted how those notes sound - sadly, plants don’t actually make these sorts of noises, however hard you listen!) I’m creating these tracks to bring a bit of calm and positivity into our stressful world, but also to try and raise awareness of just how awesome plants are: Not just a green backdrop to life, but life itself - without the plants, we literally wouldn’t exist! Grateful credit goes to dae jeung kim (https://pixabay.com/users/kimdaejeung...) for the spookily beautiful moonflower photo, JCI-21 (https://pixabay.com/users/jci-21-2170...) for the whistling wind, and Lazy Chill Zone (https://pixabay.com/users/lazychillzo...) for the howling wolf. You didn't hear the howling wolf? Listen all the way to the end! ;-) Music: © 2024 Tana Silverland
