Anaheim Avocado Tree originated in 1910. A seedling from E.C. Dutton planted on Otto Keup place at the corner of Palm Ave. & Ball Road, Anaheim, CA. Production very prolific. Bears regularly, up to 220 lbs (100kg) annually. Resistance to adverse weather, quite tender to frost. Shape of tree, tall & slender. Fruit, June-Aug. of second year. Ventura & Santa Barbara later. Color, green. Weight,18-32 ozs. Shape, elliptical. Skin, medium rough, glossy. Marketability fair. Seed, med. to small. (CAS Yearbook 1956) Flower type A (Lahav & Gazit) (Originated in CA). Flesh of fair to good flavor, up to 22% oil, but inferior to Fuerte, Nabal & Benik;is best in Mar.&Apr. in Israel, July&Aug. in Queensland.
