“I have elderly grandparents,” says cardiac surgeon Dr. Jayan Nagendran. “They unfortunately have COVID-19 right now & I’m worried if they’re going to get through it. “One of the things I’ve started to think about when people tell me, `Well, it’s just really affecting the elderly. They’ve lived a long life already.’ We have to remember that elderly population, those are the same people who 70 years ago would go to war for this generation.”
