28 मार्च को दिल्ली-NCR और उत्तर भारत में अचानक ज़मीन डोलने लगी। ये झटके म्यांमार में आए 7.2 तीव्रता के भूकंप के कारण महसूस किए गए। रिक्टर स्केल पर 7.2 की तीव्रता वाला भूकंप “major” कैटेगरी में आता है, जिससे भारी तबाही मच सकती है। अच्छी बात ये रही कि इसका केंद्र गहराई में था, लेकिन फिर भी दिल्ली से लेकर थाईलैंड तक असर दिखा। इससे पहले 2023 में तुर्की-सीरिया और 2015 में नेपाल में आए ऐसे ही तीव्र भूकंप ने हजारों जानें ली थीं। भूकंप क्यों आते हैं? इसकी वजह होती है टेक्टोनिक प्लेट्स का खिसकना या टकराना। भारत जैसे देशों में जागरूकता, मजबूत इमारतें और अलार्म सिस्टम ज़रूरी हैं ताकि जान-माल का नुकसान कम हो सके। जापान इस मामले में सबसे बड़ा उदाहरण है। हमें भी सतर्क रहना होगा, क्योंकि भूकंप को रोका नहीं जा सकता — सिर्फ उससे बचाव किया जा सकता है। On 28 March, the ground suddenly started shaking in Delhi-NCR and North India.
