Janet Jackson & The Jacksons - "One More Chance" (Mash-up)
Mash-up of the original version of "One More Chance" by The Jacksons and the unreleased cover by sister, Janet Jackson circa 1993. I've always enjoyed this song by Janet Jackson and it wasn't until recently that I discovered that it was actually a cover of a song her brothers had sang back in the 80's! I have no idea how I missed that, but I really like both versions. They are so similar that I wanted to try to mash them together and see how it sounded. It's pretty cool that Janet didn't change much in the arrangement, lyrics, or vocals to honor what her brothers had done. Please enjoy! I am a massive fan of Janet Jackson. Since I first saw her on the shows Good Times & Diff'rent Strokes, I was an instant admirer of her talent and beauty. When Janet switched to singing, I was even more in awe of her gift as an entertainer. When "Control" hit the scene with all the blockbuster singles constantly on the radio and her amazing music videos on repeat on MTV - I became a lifelong fan! Her slick moves and style were unmatched by any others at the time, outside her brother Michael at least. Janet is an outstanding actress as well as a top-tier performer. I have seen Janet live in concert, bought every album, single, import and compilation she has released. Back in my teen years, Tower Records was the place to be! That is where I discovered imports from other countries across Europe, as well as Japan, Australia and Canada. I was like a kid in a candy shop! Rare remixes of songs and unreleased material were often included on import singles. There are some singles that Janet released where I bought as many as 20 different variations containing tons of hard-to-get songs and mixes. "One More Chance" was one of those songs. It was featured as an "unreleased bonus track" on the single for "if." - and I instantly fell in love with the song. Janet's breathy, yet soulful voice on the track leaves me feeling very emotional and vulnerable. This ballad was so different from the upbeat pop songs that Janet had became famous for. For an unreleased track, it is one of the most beautifully composed songs I've heard. ________________________________________________________________________ [below extracted from their wiki page] “One More Chance” is a cover of a song by The Jacksons' from their 1984 album "Victory", written by Janet’s brother Randy.
