Set 16 years after the events of Village, Shadows of Rose follows Rosemary Winters on a trecherous journey into the remnant collective conciousness of the megamycete, seeking freedom from the burden of her unique nature. Played in 3rd person and focused more heavily on evading foes and using Rose's special abilities, the game serves as a narrative conclusion to the Winters family storyline that began with RE7.
