Somehow, this year amidst all the circumstances around me and the loss of my mom recently, it has made me look up the historical meaning behind everything and how I can personally practice slowing down and process deeply how important this season is. I suggest you do the same. 🕯 First week of Advent kicks off with the first lighting of the purple candle of HOPE aka prophecies candle. We can have hope that God will fulfill the prophecies declared in the Old Testament about Jesus. 🕯 Second week was also purple purple candle of FAITH. Let us continue to travel by faith awaiting our Lord’s promised coming. 🕯 Third Sunday of Advent involves lighting the Pink Candle of JOY also known as the "Shepherd’s Candle." To the shepherd’s great joy, the angels announced that Jesus came for humble, unimportant people like them, too. In liturgy, the color rose signifies joy. This candle is colored PINK to represent joyfulness and rejoicing. We are reminded to reflect on the JOY that comes through Jesus’ arrival, and through the salvation he has gifted us. We are to prepare in “rejoicing” for indeed our “Lord is near.” (Philippians‬ ‭4:4-5) 🕯 Advent Sunday to come: Dec 19 PEACE Or LOVE purple candle ⁉️ Do you observe the Advent season in your home?
