3 Fish on ONE Jig?! Grouper Capital of the World | Johnny Jigs Slow Pitch Jigging
We made the run from Pompano Beach to Madeira Beach, Florida known as the Grouper Capital of the World on a mission to complete the ultimate grouper trifecta using slow pitch jigging. Fishing with Anthony Belmonte from Figured It Out Fishing Charters, Chad from Jig Worx & Deep Liner, plus Josh and Jim, this trip started early… real early. We left the dock at 3:30 a.m. then had to turn around because Jim set his alarm wrong. Classic. After a 2.5 hour run offshore, we got right into it. First stop produced a Kitty Mitchell Grouper and a Red Porgy, putting us on the board early. From there, the hunt was on for the trifecta: Kitty Mitchell Grouper ✅ Yellowedge Grouper ✅ Snowy Grouper ✅ Chad and Jim both put solid yellowedge groupers on deck… but then things got wild. I dropped down and hooked THREE fish on ONE jig: 2 Longtail Seabass 1 Yellowedge Grouper Something you almost never see in offshore fishing. Josh sealed the deal with a 30 lb Snowy Grouper, completing the boat grouper trifecta. We wrapped it up in 400 ft of water catching Red Groupers, which is not something you see every day. This trip is packed with: Advanced slow pitch jigging techniques Deep drop offshore fishing Grouper fishing strategies How to tie a chain knot (Chad breaks it down) How to fillet a yellowedge grouper step-by-step If you're serious about offshore jigging, deep water fishing, and targeting trophy grouper, this one’s for you.
