Portuguese Paratroopers in Combat in Central African Republic - May of 2020

As part of its mandate to protect populations, the MINUSCA Force has just launched two major operations, namely Operation "Igana siriri" (Bringing Peace to Sango) in Ndélé (north-central region) Central African Republic) as well as in the Sibut-Grimari-Kouango triangle (Ouaka and Kemo prefectures), in order to deal with the security situation in these regions. Minusca Special Forces intercepted 9 rebel elements of the RPRC on board 8 motorcycles bound for Manovo. Among these 9 arrested rebels was General Azor Kalité, ex-commander of the FPRC who joined the Anti-Balaka militiamen in 2016 to fight his ex-friends of the FPRC led by Nourredine Adam.
