Indigo League - Kanto Region. Maiden's Peak to Saffron City. Our heroes find a huge number of Butterfree on their way to Saffron City. It's Butterfree mating season. Ash releases his Butterfree. It falls in love with a pink Butterfree, but it rejects Ash's Butterfree. Team Rocket steals all the Butterfree except Ash's Butterfree. Our heroes and Ash's Butterfree follow Team Rocket. Our heroes battle Team Rocket and Ash's Butterfree works hard to rescue them. This makes the pink Butterfree fall in love with Ash's Butterfree. They all escape. Team Rocket tries to catch them again but Pikachu uses its Thunder and blasts them off. Ash with a heavy heart says goodbye to Butterfree.
