America's First 1% | Michael R. Coad | TEDxVillanovaU
When solving for why, Michael R. Coad discusses the lack of Black Americans rising to the highest ranks of corporate America. Although many Americans would like to believe we have almost achieved racial equality, Michael presents the hard truth that we are only 1% of the way to this goal. Michael's talk, "America's First 1%" offers a three step approach to increase Black representation in corporate America, and how White Americans can act as better allies in their individual and collective journeys to help build a society that is truly racially just and equitable at its core. Michael R. Coad was raised in Buffalo, New York and moved to the Philadelphia area to achieve a Masters in Business Administration at Villanova University. He currently works as a consultant for a small firm and has brought his long-time passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion activities that are large and bold into his work. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
