10/5/2025 morning worship service Pastor Anthony Fields " "JOY On The Road — Traveling The Two Lane Highway" Philippians 1 We can rejoice no matter what is going on around us or to us. Paul demonstrates this in his letter to Philippians. To better understand the letter to the Philipians, recognize its context as historical, it speaks of a location, a genuine city. The letter to the Philippians is one of the "prison epistles." The Romans thought Paul was the prisoner in chains, but in truth God had the Romans held captive and forced to hear the gospel over and over again, with the result that many even of Caesar's household were saved. It was through those difficult experiences in Philippi that the church took root and began to grow. Shouldn't all of us also have conifidence that God will do the same for us and our ministry? I want to encourage each of us (you - me -everyone one of us) to rejoice in our relationship with the Lord. We must not let anyone or anything steal our joy! Let's not allow Satan to rob us of our joy. "Joy is when you are in your deepest valley and you can still believe for the mountaintop. Joy is when you are at your darkest point and you can still believe in light. Joy is when you are confused beyond the point of recognition but you still know that God is in control and that the Holy Spirit has a special plan for your life." (Mike Warnke)" ____________________ "Lord —Jesus Christ, Son of God: have mercy on me, a sinner. Psalm 25:6 -10 "Remember not the sins of my youth and my transgressions: remember me according to your love and for the sake of your goodness, O Lord. Gracious and upright is the Lord: therefore he teaches sinners in his way. He guides the humble in doing right : and teaches his way to the lowly. All the paths of the Lord are love and faithfulness : to those who keep his covenant and his testimonies. For your name's sake, O Lord: forgive my sin, for it is great. Lord -Jesus Christ, Son of God : have mercy on me, a sinner." Lord. you have shown us what love looks like. Help Us through acts of forgiveness and reconciliation to so love one another that our neighbors know we are your disciples and know that to be good news. Amen." ____________________ " "THINK ON THIS. "The joy of the Lord is your strength" The prophet Nehemiah delivered this message to a people who had faced hardship and were feeling sorrowful. (Nehemiah 8:10) Meaning: is a source of inner strength: It means that the spiritual joy derived from a relationship with God is a powerful force that provides fortitude and the ability to overcome difficulties. It is independent of circumstances: Unlike worldly happiness, this joy comes from God's unchanging love and promises, not from external factors, making it a constant source of strength. It is a divine gift. God's joy is presented as a gift to His people, empowering them to face trials with a positive outlook and a resilient spirit. Application: God's presence: Believers are encouraged to focus on what is true and cling to the hope found in their Heavenly Father to experience this joy. Choose joy: lt involves making a conscious choice to allow the joy of the Lord to control one's thoughts and heart, especially during times of uncertainty and fear. Find strength in trials: This joy provides the power to endure hardships, making it possible to remain joyful and hopeful even when facing personal or global crises." __________________ "Everyone can be Thank-FULL even when you're broke" 1 Timothy 6:6-19, Philippians 4:11-13 The words you never want to hear from a boss: "We have to let you go."
