Goodsprings Cemetery | Fallout Lore

This video will discuss Goodsprings Cemetery. If you have played Fallout New Vegas then you should be intimately familiar with Goodsprings cemetery, if not, we are brought here during the introductory cutscene, where Benny and a group of Great Khans have dug a grave for the Courier, the reason for doing so, wrong place, wrong time. After putting a bullet into the Couriers thick skull and burying him alive, Victor, a Securitron belonging to Mr House, dug him out, one scoop at a time, but this video is not about the Courier, so let’s take a closer look at the cemetery itself. At the top of the hill overlooking the rest of the town, a water tower sits, beneath it, 29 graves. During the day bloatflies hinder those attempting to visit their kin, a bark scorpion both curious and deadly roams nearby and at night, the dead can be heard whispering from their raided coffins. It is a place no one actively visits, Victor excluded, and you can see why. Of those 29 graves, 5 can actually be excavated and exhumed, of course a shovel is needed and the loot is random, a lone broc flower stands defiantly among the discarded tinned cans, empty bottles and cigarette butts Atop the graves we see offerings and a snow globe, a rare find indeed. Taking a closer look at the tombstones, most are nothing more than a simple plank of wood, others a more intricate cross with some having a fence to prevent pests from disturbing the remains. Those buried here with a name to mark their resting place, are Benny Lava, Count Abraham Jefferson III, D. DeCollibus, Danielle Melilli nicknamed “the Mutant”, Dave who was apparently Fearless, R. Horn, Jake, Jay Frenzal, Jo-Jack Jr, J.R. Smith, Owen Parry, Sara Friedman nicknamed “the Bear”, either she was a very strong or very hairy individual, perhaps both, Tymour Saba, Verl, and Whiskey Snakes Jr whose father may have placed the snow globe on his sons grave. Of all these names, only 1 can be seen elsewhere…outside the entrance to Vault 22 is a yellow sign, at the top left corner among the warnings and graffiti are the words “Verl is boss”, the boss of what, we don’t know, but we do know their outcome. As for the cemetery itself, it continues to stand overlooking the town, with a warning to weary travellers to keep out of the immediate area, as Radscorpions and Cazador can be seen downhill patrolling their own slice of land. Unless you want to join those buried here you would do well to heed these warnings, unless of course you are the Courier, who is known to cheat death on a regular basis.
