GOSPEL OF THE DAY JUNE 21, 2025 SATURDAY Mt 6,24-34 eVIVA
Today’s Gospel invites us to look within ourselves and confront one of the greatest silent battles we face: the anxiety that arises from distrust in God’s care. Jesus speaks with firmness and compassion, showing that it is not possible to serve two masters — either we trust God completely, or we will be slaves to fear, money, and tomorrow. As you listen to his words, you will realize that much of the anguish you carry has its origins in a divided heart. This Gospel will shake up fragile certainties, free suffocated minds, and restore serenity to your soul. It is not just a reading — it is an invitation to total trust. Today, you will understand that God does not want you to live tormented, but free. Free from worry, free from oppression, free to live one day at a time, in the certainty that the Father cares for you. DO YOU NEED TO OVERCOME ANXIETY? At that time Jesus said to his disciples: 24“No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money. 25Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air: they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your Father in heaven feeds them. Are you not of more value than the birds? 27Which of you can prolong his life by worrying? 28And why do you worry about clothes? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin. 29But I tell you, not even King Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat? What shall we drink? What shall we wear?’ 32The pagans seek all these things, but your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have its own worries. Each day has enough trouble of its own.’ – The Word of the Savior
