A 41-year-old man was arrested after Mr Corbyn was hit with the egg just before 4pm. Sky News have reported the man is thought to be a pro-Brexit demonstrator. He had earlier met worshippers at the Muslim Welfare Centre before the man allegedly smashed the egg over Mr Corbyn's head. A Metropolitan Police spokesman confirmed a member of parliament was hit in the incident. A Met Police spokesman said: “A 41-year-old man was quickly detained by officers on scene and arrested on suspicion of assault.
