Humble Miracle Worker You’ve Never Heard Of: St Francis Caracciolo | Saint of the day - June 3 2025
St. Francis Caracciolo (born Ascanio Caracciolo on October 13, 1563, in Villa Santa Maria, Italy) co-founded the Minor Clerks Regular with St. John Augustine Adorno. Renowned for his deep piety and devotion to the Eucharist and the Blessed Virgin Mary, he took the name Francis in honor of St. Francis of Assisi. He lived a life of humility, prayer, and service, promoting perpetual adoration. Francis died on June 4, 1608, in Agnone, Italy. He was canonized by Pope Pius VII on May 24, 1807. He is the patron saint of Italian cooks (due to his family’s noble association with food) and Naples, Italy. His feast day is celebrated on June 4. Alongside St. John Adorno, he revitalized religious life through their order’s focus on combining contemplative prayer with active ministry.
