The event held at the Government Medical College, Anantnag, showcased heartfelt appreciation for the tireless efforts, compassion, and unwavering commitment of nurses towards patient care and well-being. International Nurses Day, actually celebrated annually on May 12th, commemorates the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. This year’s theme, “Nurses: A Voice to Lead – A Vision for Future Healthcare,” underscores the pivotal role nurses play in shaping the future of healthcare through their leadership, innovation, and advocacy. Speaking on the occasion, Principal GMC Anantnag,  Dr. Rukhsana Najeeb expressed her gratitude to all nurses for their selfless service, particularly in the face of unprecedented challenges posed by the global pandemic, adding that Nurses have been at the forefront of healthcare, providing essential care, comfort, and support to patients, often at great personal risk.
