100 Coins in Lethal Lava Land - Super Mario 64 Complete Star Guide

In this episode of my Super Mario 64 Star Guide, we’re collecting the 100 Coins star in Lethal Lava Land. This is a unique 100-coin challenge because you have to carefully decide when to enter the volcano. While the volcano interior contains additional coins, there’s no way back out once you jump in. Entering too early can leave you stuck without enough coins to reach 100, so for this run I focus on collecting the vast majority of coins outside the volcano first. By the time we head inside, we’re already well past the danger zone. Along the way, I pick up the eight red coins, explain a lesser-known trick where the moving puzzle can reward extra coins if you wait it out, and talk through why some enemies, like Bullies and Crazy Boxes, can be risky to farm due to coins potentially flying into the lava. I also point out an interesting version difference: in the Nintendo 64 version, there is no Blue Coin Block in Lethal Lava Land, while the Nintendo DS version adds one with a generous payout. That difference alone dramatically changes how this star can be approached depending on which version you’re playing. With careful routing and a bit of patience, we hit 100 coins safely and spawn the star. If this guide helped you out, please consider liking the video and subscribing to the channel.
