BULB PLANTING DAY | Daffodils & Tulips
Welcome! In today's video I began planting bulbs so that come spring, we'll be welcoming some color. I purchased 100 tulip bulbs and 100 daffodil bulbs from Costco (Longfield Gardens). In my area (zone 6b...actually it was JUST updated so I think I might've been bumped up to 7a) bulb planting time is usually October to November. Colder areas will likely plant earlier and warmer zones much later and might require pre-chilling the bulbs in the refrigerator to ensure they get the proper cold exposure. (check your area's requirements) I planted in trios of the same color then had fun grouping them in different ways. I can't wait to see how it looks in the spring! Here's what my process looked like: 1. I dug holes (with my auger) six inches deep 2. I sprinkled Bulb Tone fertilizer into each hole 3. I placed the bulbs in the holes, ensuring the pointed end was facing upward and the roots facing down 4. I covered the holes with soil and kept moving You can find bulbs here: https://www.longfield-gardens.com Fertilizer: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FSG218U?... The project took much longer than I thought. Digging through landscape rock and fabric is not for the faint of heart, especially when it's only 34 degrees out...the forecast called for 44 degrees but no luck! I plan to finish up over the next few days. Hopefully it'll be a bit warmer. I hope you enjoyed watching! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hayley
