🌿 Ingredients Main Ingredients: Whole black urad dal (sabut urad) – 1 cup Rajma (kidney beans) – 2 tbsp Water – for soaking and boiling Salt – to taste Butter – 3 tbsp Ghee – 1 tbsp Fresh cream – ¼ cup (plus extra for garnish) Spices & Aromatics: Bay leaf – 1 Green cardamom – 2 Cloves – 2 Cinnamon stick – 1 small Onion (finely chopped) – 1 medium Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tbsp Tomato puree – 1 cup (or 2 ripe tomatoes blended) Kashmiri red chilli powder – 1 tsp (for color) Turmeric – ¼ tsp Garam masala – ½ tsp Kasuri methi – 1 tsp (crushed) 👨🍳 Instructions Soak & Cook Lentils Soak urad dal and rajma overnight. Pressure cook with salt and 4 cups of water for about 8–10 whistles until soft. Sauté Aromatics In a heavy-bottomed pan, heat butter + ghee. Add bay leaf, cardamom, cloves, and cinnamon. Sauté onions till golden brown. Add Flavors Add ginger-garlic paste and cook until raw smell fades. Then, add tomato puree, red chili powder, turmeric, and salt. Cook till the masala leaves oil. Simmer Dal Add the cooked dal and rajma with its stock. Simmer on low flame for 30–40 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add water as needed. Creamy Touch Add cream, kasuri methi, and garam masala. Simmer for 10 more minutes until rich and creamy. 🧂 Serving Tips Garnish with a swirl of cream & chopped coriander.
