A few years ago, the name was changed resulting in the terms being interchangeable. First things first, we will need to go over how to download resource packs for Minecraft 1.21.5. Most texture packs are downloaded from CurseForge, Modrinth, or a website managed by the texture pack creator. When downloading resource packs, make sure it is from a trusted source. It’s also worth noting that Minecraft texture packs from older versions such as 1.21.1 will work in Minecraft 1.21.5. Some textures may be missing from the resource packs, with those textures being replaced with vanilla textures, but just because a texture pack isn’t updated to the most recent version doesn’t mean you can’t download it. After you have things downloaded, we can move on to how to install resource packs for Minecraft 1.21.5. To get started, open up Minecraft. Then, once you are in Minecraft, click on Options, and Resource Packs from the main menu. This will open the Resource Pack menu. When you go back into Minecraft, you will see them in the “Available” section. Hover over the texture pack you want to activate and click the arrow that appears to move it to the “Selected” section. Just click to proceed anyway. In-game your texture pack will be active. You can also enable multiple texture packs at the same time. The texture pack at the top in the selected section will be the texture pack that shows up first. Any textures the top resource pack doesn’t have will be taken up by the texture pack under it. This is great if you want to install a weapon or tool pack or a resource pack that only changes specific things like mobs while having another texture pack for everything else.
