In John 12:31-33, Jesus reveals judgment of the world, defeat of Satan, and Himself lifted up in death. First, The Enemy Receives Divine Justice (John 12:31 Now judgment is upon this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out.) Jesus’ death provides sinners with divine forgiveness by faith, but it also is an act of judgment and divine justice against the world and the enemy. Second, Calling Humanity To God (John 12:32 And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to Myself.”) Jesus’ death invites and woos humanity into a relationship with the Holy Creator. Third, Jesus Understood His Path To Death (John 12:33 Now He was saying this to indicate what kind of death He was going to die.) Jesus knew how he was to die and fulfilled prophecy knowingly walking into it. Will you accept the invitation to be forgiven by God?
