Union Pacific coal train in downtown Ames, Iowa

Tuesday, March 28, 2017, 1:19 PM. An eastbound Union Pacific coal train passes behind Main Street in Ames, Iowa. I've got the camera fired up in plenty of time, which is unusual for me at this location. Mike from The Hobby Shop provides a little commentary at the opening of the video. At 0:41 we discuss the fact that this train and one earlier both honked near the Duff Avenue crossing, even though Ames is a quiet zone. We conclude that there must be a work crew that they're giving the standard warning of two toots.
