Sun obscured over the UK in partial solar eclipse

On Saturday 29 March 2025, the Moon will pass across the disc of the Sun to cause a partial solar eclipse visible from the UK. The moon is set to cover up to 40% of the Sun. Watch a live shot from the Royal Observatory in Greenwich. It's expected to be visible in the UK from 9.56am to 12.14pm on Saturday 29 March. For people in the south of England - where the weather means views should be best - the peak of the eclipse is set to be at around 11.03am.
