What does it mean to hide your lamp under a basket? Thoughts on the church witness.

Jesus said that a light is not put under a basket (bushel) but placed on a stand. Mark’s gospel uses this in the context that all secret things will be revealed and that the true nature of our heart will be displayed. (Mark 4;21-25) Sometimes in our live Bible studies, other topics come up … which is how my Sunday school classes were … we cover the lesson, but talk about whatever the conversation leads to. Most of the time, I’ll edit the live video so the replay is more focused on the main lesson. I originally thought I would edit this one as well. It was originally over an hour and I like to try to keep the Bible study videos at 30-40 minutes. I did edit a little bit (I cut the part about Polycarp), but decided to keep the conversation at the end because Christy mentioned that many Christians feel pressured by church leadership to attend in-person services.
