Join us and organize a vigil yourself! https://marchoflife.org/october7/ On October 7, 2023, at 6:29 am local time, Hamas launched a terrorist attack on southern Israel, marking the beginning of the worst pogrom against Jews since the Shoah. 1,170 Jews, Arabs, and people of other nationalities were brutally murdered, raped, and desecrated. The terrorists abducted 251 people as hostages to the Gaza Strip. Two years later, 48 hostages are still in captivity. While international attention is focused primarily on the humanitarian situation in Gaza, the memory of October 7 threatens to fade. For many Jewish families, the images of that day brought back the worst traumas of persecution and the Shoah. At the same time, a global wave of antisemitism and hatred of Israel swept through the streets and universities, which continues unabated to this day. In many countries, Jews are now wondering whether they can still live there. International organizations seem to intentionally forget the atrocities of October 7. In the meantime, Israel, which is fighting for its existence in Gaza, is being accused of genocide in a reversal of perpetrator and victim. Our message is therefore clear and unambiguous: “Never forget October 7! Never forget the hostages!” That is why we are calling for silent vigils around the world on October 7 at 6:29 am Israeli time—exactly the time when the brutal attack began two years ago. We share the grief of the Jewish people, stand with the Jewish state regardless of current politics, and raise our voices against antisemitism and hatred of Israel.
