Hoof Trimming Day! | August 31, 2025 (Farm Vlog Sunday Farm Chores)

How do you get a 400-pound sheep to lay down so you can trim his hooves? Very carefully. And you can see how we did it with Louie and two more sheep in this video. By the time I made it back out to the barn, Carly, Chloe, and Dylan had already finished trimming the hooves on our 22 Capella Ranch goats, and I was there to help with our sheep. In this video, we trim hooves on three sheep, Louie, Cece, and Bex. Our process is to gently lay each sheep down on the ground (if they're big) or on a spool (if they're smaller) and then we have 2 "holders" and 2 "hoof trimmers". The system works pretty well when you've got enough folks.
