February 21st, Part III: “Daniel’s ‘70th Week’”

Link to the Timeline used in the video: http://bit.ly/1RkBNf8 Daniel 9:24-27, 12:11; Matthew 24:1-15; II Thessalonians 2:1-12; Revelation 11:1-3, 12:1-6 Most people immediately think of the book of Revelation when it comes to the subject of “end times.” Believing that Revelation is highly symbolic and impossible to understand, people leave the study of end times (eschatology = the study of last things) to others. But the Bible itself declares that “all Scripture is profitable,” and much of what God reveals in John’s Revelation CAN be understood when connected with what the rest of what God’s Word says about the coming kingdom of God. One key to understanding these things is found in Daniel’s visions of the future. Taken by themselves these visions are difficult to interpret, yet when seen in the context of the rest of Scripture they reveal surprising detail concerning future events that even now are impacting our world. One such vision is found in Daniel 9:24-27, and is explained further in the words of Jesus in Matthew 24, and in Paul’s second letter to the Thessalonians, as well as in Revelation. As we begin to put the pieces of the puzzle together a picture begins to emerge that gives insight into God’s plan and His purpose for “the end.”
