It is the first Sunday after Christmas and though the world has moved on, in the church, the celebration continues. It's the 8th day of Christmas - 4 more to go! The Gospel lesson gives an account of the shepherds who, after seeing the angels and hearing their proclamations, say to one another, "Let us go now to Bethlehem and see this thing that has taken place which the Lord has made known to us" They found the family and told them what they had seen. All who heard it were amazed! But Mary treasured these words and pondered them in hear heart. After eight days, it was time to circumcise the child and name him. They gave him the name given by the angel before he was conceived in the womb. His name is Jesus. Join us on this New Year’s Day to celebrate the 8th Day of Christmas.
