(8 Mar 2015) Civil rights activists, Rev. Jesse Jackson and Rev. Al Sharpton help mark Bloody Sunday 50th anniversary commemoration in Selma, Alabama, with their speeches at Sunday service at Brown Chapel AME Church. The church service was among a series of events in Selma over the weekend. There was also a film screenings and a pre-march rally at the foot of the Edmund Pettus Bridge where police beat and tear-gassed marchers in 1965. The group will then retrace the steps that helped secure equal voting rights 50 years ago. President Barack Obama spoke at a commemoration Saturday. An anniversary march from Selma to Montgomery is set to begin Monday morning and culminate with a rally at the Alabama Capitol Friday afternoon.
