Winter Storm Dumps Nearly 1 Foot of Snow on Colorado's Eastern Plains

A winter weather system will bring rain and snow back to Colorado on Thursday and Friday. The system will bring light snow to Colorado's Interstate 25 corridor Thursday night into Friday. Heavier snow is expected in the Front Range foothills and the mountains. Winter Weather Advisories and Winter Storm Warnings are in effect across Colorado through Friday with several inches of snow and icy road conditions expected in the Denver metro area, Palmer Divide and foothills. Rain and snow will begin the Denver area as early as Thursday morning, with the potential for some lightning on the eastern plains. Some snow mixed with rain is possible Thursday before steady snow moves in Thursday night and Friday morning. The Denver area is forecast to receive 1 to 4 inches of snow into Friday. Snow will continue in the mountains through Thursday. Snowfall amounts will be heaviest in Colorado's mountains and foothills where 6 to 18 inches of snow possible.
