Last stop on NYC Ferry: Astoria to E 90th St UES Carl Schurz Park

This is a live video that I streamed That includes the last stop on the Astoria NYC ferry route. I found this on June 17, 2022. This was Father’s Day weekend so my brother, father, and I used the NYC Ferry to see the city during the golden hour and eventual sunset. We were able to capture Manhattan henge while going through the Midtown stops and right after this we exited the ferry and explored Carl Schurz park and a lot of the Upper East Side. The cool part about this short journey is that it passes right above Roosevelt Island where the lighthouse is clearly visible. This used to be a treacherous stretch of water that many boats sank in including the General Slocum during its tragic disaster as a result of a fire on board. It was only after divers completely restructured the bed of the tidal estuary that is the East River that the water flowed much more smoothly and no longer had such a dangerous currents. This video is just a live stream so there is absolutely no edit or cinematic experience. I hope you enjoy.
