Family denies false video linking slain soldier to criminal activity after double fatal police shooting in Sangre Grande: • A video making the rounds on social media since last evening has falsely identified slain Trinidad and Tobago regiment soldier, 25-year-old Enrique Garcia, as being in the company of a man armed with an automatic rifle. • The controversy comes in the wake of the double fatal shooting in Sangre Grande on Sunday, September 21st, 2025, when Garcia and Shyien Trancoso were killed by officers of the north central division gang and intelligence unit. He was put in place by someone known to him: Pleasantville man responds to telephone call— gunned down moments later • Police are investigating the murder of Ken Wilkinson, 38, who was gunned down in Pleasantville on Saturday night. • According to reports, around 7:15 p.m. on September 27th, officers of the Southern Division Task Force responded to a report of a shooting at Brassia Drive, Orchid Gardens, Pleasantville. • On arrival at 7:25 p.m., they discovered Wilkinson’s motionless body lying face down on the roadway. Tragedy in Hermitage Village: 52-year-old man perishes in late-night fire • A 52-year-old Claxton Bay man lost his life late Friday night after his home was engulfed in flames. • The deceased has been identified as Russell Mantan, a self-employed labourer of Chamroo Trace, Hermitage Village. Autopsy ordered after pensioner’s decomposing body found covered in blood at his San Juan home. • The deceased has been identified as 69-year-old Kenrick Hall of #66 Bagatelle Extension, San Juan, who reportedly suffered from prostate and hypertension.
