The New Patriotic Party has rubbished claims by President John Mahama that the ‘one to one’ promises made by the presidential nominee of NPP are an ancient style of campaigning. Speaking to Pulse.com.gh, spokesperson for Nana Akufo-Addo, Mustapha Hamid, said the party is unperturbed by the comments and will continue to remain primitive if that is the only way it could bring solutions to the country’s problems. The chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC) has warned political parties and the general public against the use of intemperate language ahead of the December polls. According to her, the political environment currently appears tensed and might degenerate into violence if the situation is not checked. Public servants will have a 10 percent salary increase from January 2017, the Minister for Employment and Labour Relations Haruna Iddrisu has said. The increase was agreed on after a meeting between the national tripartite committee today. In January 2016 the government increased the minimum wage to GH8. This means from next year, the minimum wage would now be GH8.80.
