백조 소리는 어떻게 음악으로 형상화되었나? 백조를 위한 음악은 어떻게 춤이 되었나? 클래식 명곡으로 잘 알려진 시벨리우스의 교향시 ‘투오넬라의 백조’를 동시대적인 음악과 움직임으로 재해석한 작품. 시벨리우스 탄생 150주년을 기념하여, 안무가 안성수, 핀란드 컨템포러리 서커스 그룹 WHS, 그리고 핀란드, 독일 등의 작곡가와 연주자들의 협업을 통해 탄생한 '투오넬라의 백조'는 현대무용에 폴 댄스(Pole Dance), 저글링 등 현대 서커스의 요소를 덧입히고, 전자음악, 타악기, 첼로, 프리페어드 피아노 등의 고전과 현대를 넘나드는 라이브 연주로 구성되어 있다. 시벨리우스의 원곡과 그의 음악을 모티브로 새로 작곡된 곡들은 현대 음악가들에 의해 변주되며 삶과 죽음의 경계를 가르는 강물과 배, 죽음의 땅 투오넬라의 관문을 지키는 백조의 이미지 등은 현대무용과 서커스, 다양한 오브제를 통해 서늘하고도 매혹적으로 그려진다. 안성수 안무가와 함께 예술성과 미학을 강조하는 핀란드 현대 서커스 연출가 빌레 왈로(Ville Walo), 북유럽에서 가장 주목 받는 타악 연주가이자 작곡가 그리고 DJ로 활동 중인 전천후 아티스트 사물리 코스미넨(Samuli Kosminen), 바로크 음악부터 현대음악, 재즈까지 폭넓은 활동 범위를 자랑하는 첼리스트 마커스 하티(Markus Hohti) 등이 협업하여 아름다운 핀란드 설화를 눈으로 보는 음악극으로 풀어냈다. - 홈페이지 : http://www.kncdc.kr 인스타 : @kncdc 페이스북 :   / kncdc   블로그 : https://blog.naver.com/kncdc3472 How has the sound of the swan been incorporated into music? How has music for the swan become dance? This work is a reinterpretation of "The Swan of Tuonela," a well-known classical symphonic poem by Sibelius, with contemporary music and dance. "Swan of Tuonela" was created through the collaboration of choreographer Ahn Sungsoo, the Finnish contemporary circus group WHS as well as Finnish and German composers and musicians to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Sibelius' birth. It combines contemporary dance with elements of contemporary circus, such as pole dance and juggling, accompanied by live instruments ranging from classical to modern, including electronic instruments, percussion, cello and prepared piano. Contemporary musicians perform variations of newly composed pieces based on Sibelius' original piece with the same title and his music. Besides, images of the river and boat across the boundary between life and death and of the swan guarding the gateway of Tuonela, which is the land of the dead, are portrayed through contemporary dance, circus and diverse objects.
