DR Congo to hold elections
Voters in the Democratic Republic of Congo will be heading to the polls on the 23rd of December. Last week incumbent President Joseph Kabila ended months of speculation. He has decided to relinquish his power by not running for a third term. However, he has thrown his weight behind Ramazani Shandary. Shandary is the permanent secretary of the People's Party for Reconstruction and Democracy, the PPRD. How crucial is this election for the DRC's future?
