Despite this, the Ventura County District Attorney's Office opted not to press charges against Jamie, instead enforcing a restraining order. Kaplan explained to Page Six that Kevin did not want Jamie Spears to face prosecution. The police report he filed was specifically to secure protection orders for the children, which are still valid. Nevertheless, the Los Angeles lawyer explains that the restraining order against Jamie has naturally ended after five years. Kaplan clarifies that there are no restrictions on communication between Jamie and his grandchildren, Sean Preston and Jayden James. It has been reported that the boys are currently in contact with Jamie and are even planning a visit to see him in Louisiana, according to a source interviewed by TMZ. Kaplan could not verify the said journey, but mentioned that Federline, aged 46, would not object to the visit and is in favor of his sons reconnecting with their grandfather.
