Kate vs. EXO Chair Round 1 Kneeling Push Down (Cat) Most common misconception on Pilates is that after so many classes, you will get bored because you’ve mastered every move. WRONG! Like all modalities, Pilates is a practice that goes on forever! In my opinion, whether the maneuvers be Classical or Contemporary, one never really 100% masters them all! As of lately, a ton of my teaching has been focused on the Reformer to engage my clients. Privately, I am working Cadillac, mat, EXO chair, barrel, everything! There’s so much more to this than just throwing your legs in straps—though, that is an amazing feeling, I have to admit! Whether you’re on your 10th or 100th class, focus on the muscle groups that you are working, engage your transverse abdominus, and coordinate your breath. If you have taken my class, you know I am FOREVER reminding you of the following: 1. Belly button on the spine—ribs flared out and your belly is an inverted bowl! 2. At the top, squeeze your glutes and quads and on the way in, resist the springs! 3. Breathe! Are you breathing?! Inhale through your nose, exhale through your mouth! Progressions and modifications are all part of this art. Don’t be afraid to ask your instructor! Comment below what exercise you are beginning to get bored and let’s explore what can be done to make it spicy again!!! #pilates #reformerpilates #pilatesreformer #pilatesinstructor #dtl #pilatesprincessandherpitbull #yourfavoritepilatesinstructor #pilatesprincess #atlanta #lawrencevillega #powerspilates #apieceofkate
