GRadulting Workshop Series: What is the health insurance plan for graduate students?

Staff will provide an overview of the UMD College Park's health insurance requirements and give you an opportunity to ask questions. All full-time registered graduate students are required to have health insurance. New this year, automatic enrollment in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) will begin in August when students register for classes, and the cost will be charged to their student accounts. Students who already have insurance will be required to submit an insurance waiver to avoid automatic enrollment and the automatic charge.
