It's an online challenge where musicians create a song using the same sample which is posted to the Official Koala Sampler Facebook group every Sunday. On Friday evening (usually 9PM EST) all of the entries into the challenge are reviewed on the Twitch.tv Koala Beatcast live video show hosted by Rémi Martinez and any special guests invited to the show that week. We usually live stream on Youtube and Facebook as well. After the show everyone gets three votes to choose their favorite tracks in a poll. After 24 hours the votes are tallied and the winner is announced. The winner chooses the next sample for the upcoming week and we begin the challenge anew. Anyone can participate and It's actually very simple to do so. Follow these 4 simple rules. • Use any amount of the source sample you would like but you must use it. You may use any other sounds outside of the sample you want to make your track. If you need a banging drum or bass sound and can't find a good one in the sample, just add what you need from somewhere else. It's up to you. • Keep your track to under 2 and a half minutes to give equal airtime to all participants. • You must use the Koala Sampler App in some way in the creation of your track. This challenge was created from out of a Koala Sampler appreciation facebook group and this is the challenge where we showcase all the different ways Koala can be used. There is no requirement how much you use Koala but it is a requirement that you use it. • Host your finished track somewhere and send a link to it to [email protected] by midnight EST on Thursday. If you send it on Friday there is a chance it won't make it on the Twitch broadcast #koalaflipchallenge #koalasampler #koalabeatcast
