1 Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because he who has suffered in his body is done with sin 1 χριστου ουν παθοντος σαρκι και υμεις την αυτην εννοιαν οπλισασθε οτι ο παθων σαρκι πεπαυται {VAR1: αμαρτιαις } {VAR2: αμαρτιας } 2 As a result, he does not live the rest of his earthly life for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God 2 εις το μηκετι ανθρωπων επιθυμιαις αλλα θεληματι θεου τον επιλοιπον εν σαρκι βιωσαι χρονον 3 For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do-living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry 3 αρκετος γαρ ο παρεληλυθως χρονος το βουλημα των εθνων κατειργασθαι πεπορευμενους εν ασελγειαις επιθυμιαις οινοφλυγιαις κωμοις ποτοις και αθεμιτοις ειδωλολατριαις 4 They think it strange that you do not plunge with them into the same flood of dissipation, and they heap abuse on you 4 εν ω ξενιζονται μη συντρεχοντων υμων εις την αυτην της ασωτιας αναχυσιν βλασφημουντες 5 But they will have to give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead 5 οι αποδωσουσιν λογον τω ετοιμως {VAR1: κρινοντι } {VAR2: εχοντι κριναι } ζωντας και νεκρους 6 For this is the reason the gospel was preached even to those who are now dead, so that they might be judged according to men in regard to the body, but live according to God in regard to the spirit 6 εις τουτο γαρ και νεκροις ευηγγελισθη ινα κριθωσιν μεν κατα ανθρωπους σαρκι ζωσιν δε κατα θεον πνευματι 7 The end of all things is near Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray 7 παντων δε το τελος ηγγικεν σωφρονησατε ουν και νηψατε εις προσευχας 8 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins 8 προ παντων την εις εαυτους αγαπην εκτενη εχοντες οτι αγαπη καλυπτει πληθος αμαρτιων 9 Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling 9 φιλοξενοι εις αλληλους ανευ γογγυσμου 10 Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms 10 εκαστος καθως ελαβεν χαρισμα εις εαυτους αυτο διακονουντες ως καλοι οικονομοι ποικιλης χαριτος θεου 11 If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever Amen 11 ει τις λαλει ως λογια θεου ει τις διακονει ως εξ ισχυος ης χορηγει ο θεος ινα εν πασιν δοξαζηται ο θεος δια ιησου χριστου ω εστιν η δοξα και το κρατος εις τους αιωνας των αιωνων αμην 12 Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you 12 αγαπητοι μη ξενιζεσθε τη εν υμιν πυρωσει προς πειρασμον υμιν γινομενη ως ξενου υμιν συμβαινοντος 13 But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed 13 αλλα καθο κοινωνειτε τοις του χριστου παθημασιν χαιρετε ινα και εν τη αποκαλυψει της δοξης αυτου χαρητε αγαλλιωμενοι 14 If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you 14 ει ονειδιζεσθε εν ονοματι χριστου μακαριοι οτι το της δοξης και το του θεου πνευμα εφ υμας αναπαυεται 15 If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler 15 μη γαρ τις υμων πασχετω ως φονευς η κλεπτης η κακοποιος η ως αλλοτριεπισκοπος 16 However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name 16 ει δε ως χριστιανος μη αισχυνεσθω δοξαζετω δε τον θεον εν τω ονοματι τουτω 17 For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God? 17 οτι [ο] καιρος του αρξασθαι το κριμα απο του οικου του θεου ει δε πρωτον αφ ημων τι το τελος των απειθουντων τω του θεου ευαγγελιω 18 And, 'If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?' 18 και ει ο δικαιος μολις σωζεται ο {VAR1: [δε] } ασεβης και αμαρτωλος που φανειται 19 So then, those who suffer according to God's will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good 19 ωστε και οι πασχοντες κατα το θελημα του θεου πιστω κτιστη παρατιθεσθωσαν τας ψυχας {VAR2: αυτων } εν αγαθοποιια 변화받은 삶 [벧전]4:1 그리스도께서도 고난을 받으셨습니다 그러므로 여러분 자신도 그리스도와 같은 마음으로 무장하십시오 고난을 겪은 사람은 죄와 관계를 끊은 사람입니다 [벧전]4:2 여러분의 남은 생애를 사람들이 좋아하는 악한 일을 하면서 보내지 말고, 하나님이 원하시는 일들을 하며 살아가십시오 [벧전]4:3 이전에는 믿지 않는 사람들이 좋아하는 일들에 너무나 많은 시간을 낭비하였습니다 방탕하고, 악한 욕망에 사로잡혀 술 취하고, 흥청망청 떠들며, 우상에게 절하고 경배하였습니다 이런 것들은 지나간 때로 충분합니다 [벧전]4:4 믿지 않는 이들은 자신들이 하는 방탕한 생활에 끼어들지 않는 여러분을 이상히 여길 것입니다 또 경멸하고 비웃기도 할 것입니다 [벧전]4:5 그러나 그들은 자신들이 저지른 잘못들을 산 자와 죽은 자를 심판하시는 하나님 앞에서 낱낱이 말하게 될 것입니다 [벧전]4:6 그래서 지금 죽어 있는 자들에게도 복음이 전해졌습니다 모든 사람과 똑같이 그들 역시 죽음의 심판을 받을 것이나, 영으로는 하나님과 함께 살게 하기 위해서 그들에게도 복음이 전파된 것입니다 하나님의 선물을 지혜
