Man-of-War Problem in Orange Beach

ORANGE BEACH, Ala. (WPMI) Pictures of dangerous Portuguses man-o-wars floating around Orange Beach have been making their appearance on the Internet.People have been calling them moon jellyfish, or 88's because they have four little circles on their back and look like the number 88.There were some pictures of dozens, maybe hundreds of them around the docks across from the Flora-Bama Lounge. They appear to be all gone now.The folks we spoke with say it's common this time of year.Some folks that don't get down this way and get to see that or don't live here, they freak out when they see it. But it's a pretty normal event this time of year, said Michael Nix with Orange Beach Watersports.
