Today, we will explore the difference between these two types of numbers and how to identify them. Let's start with Prime numbers. A Prime number is a number greater than 1 that has only two factors: 1 and itself. For example, the numbers 2, 3, 5, and 7 are all prime numbers because they can only be divided by 1 and the number itself without leaving a remainder. On the other hand, Composite numbers are numbers that have more than two factors. In other words, they can be divided evenly by numbers other than just 1 and themselves. For example, 4, 6, 8, and 9 are all composite numbers because they have factors other than just 1 and the number itself. So, how can you tell if a number is Prime or Composite? One way is to try and divide the number by smaller numbers starting from 2. If the number can only be divided by 1 and itself, then it is Prime. If it has other factors, then it is Composite. Understanding Prime and Composite numbers is important in mathematics as they play a key role in number theory and cryptography. So next time you come across a number, remember to check if it's Prime or Composite! Thanks for watching our video!
