One of the all-time best songs. Released in 1983. It is one of those songs that just MAKES you want to dance to it. Bonnie Tyler has an excellent cover of this song too. Written by Jim Steinman, who also wrote Total Eclipse of the Heart. [We have now posted hundreds of videos on our Youtube channel of us, mid-70-year-olds, dancing to the oldies. We have the usual physical ailments consistent with our age—cancer that necessitated awful treatment, open heart surgery, a broken back from a car accident that leaves Vicky in pain all of the time, and a foot rebuild that makes Dan’s foot more of a club than a foot. Most of the time we are not dancing on ideal dance floors. The areas are small, seriously limiting our freedom, and when we are on our front porch the floorboards are uneven. When we’re camping, the dance surface is full of hidden surprises, like rocks, sticks, and holes. But, hey, we’re still dancing! And LOVE IT! We make no money from our videos—that’s not our thing. We just want people to see that, even in their senior years with so many people who were loved now gone and with their bodies deteriorating from age, people can still dance….can still enjoy the music they remember so well from their childhoods and adolescences…..and can stay in love]
