Spiritual Principle: Victory in Christ Jesus is the only way to have victory over the Devil and the forces of evil, but if you are in Christ, it is impossible to lose! Question: What does it mean to be In Christ Jesus? The Main Idea: Jesus wanted His disciples to have a clear vision of how He defeated the Devil in the wilderness, so that they would have the insight needed to be victorious over the Devil in their lives! ❖ Jesus gives us clear vison into the goals and strategies of the Devil so that we are not caught unaware of his schemes! *Satan wants us to doubt God’s word for our lives! **Satan wants us to satisfy our fleshly desires outside of the will of God! ***Satan wants us to test God’s love! ****Satan wants us to believe the way of the world is better than the way of God! Question – Why did Jesus only tell His disciples the three temptations recorded in the Gospel of Luke and Matthew when we know He was tempted for forty days? (Luke 4:2) Answer = (1 John 2:15-17) First: “The Lust of the Flesh” Second: “The Lust of the eyes” Third: “The Pride of Life” ❖ Jesus gives us clear vision into how He had victory over the Devil in the wilderness so that we can have victory over the Devil in our lives! #1. Jesus Knew Spiritual Warfare Must Be Fought In The Power Of The Spirit. #2. Jesus Knew If God The Father Led Him Into The Fight Then He Could Win It. #3. Jesus Knew Who He Was, The Son Of God. #4. Jesus Knew The Devil Will Strike At You In Places Where You Are Weak. #5. Jesus Knew The Importance of Knowing The Scriptures. #6. Jesus Knew The Devil Wanted To Kill Him. #7.
