Mass to Commemorate the 110th World Day of Migrants and Refugees | 9/29/2024 | Washington, DC, USA
***Información en Español: https://adw.org/event/110-world-day-o... The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington invites you to join us via Livestream as we celebrate a Holy Mass to Commemorate the 110th World Day of Migrants and Refugees on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at 5:30 PM EDT from The Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle in Washington, DC, USA! Cardinal Christophe Pierre, Apostolic Nuncio to the United States of America, will serve as the Principal Celebrant and Homilist for this Mass, and Bishop Evelio Menjívar-Ayala along with Bishop Roy Campbell, Auxiliary Bishops of Washington, will concelebrate. The theme chosen this year by the Holy Father is “God Walks with His People.” Pope Francis reminds us that all of us, God’s people, are migrants on this earth, on our way to the “true homeland,” the Kingdom of Heaven. Migrants are a contemporary icon of these people on a journey, of the Church on a journey, and at the same time, it is in them and in all our vulnerable brothers and sisters that we can encounter the Lord who walks with us. This day is always an occasion to express concern for different vulnerable people on the move, to pray for them as they face many challenges, and to increase awareness about the opportunities that migration offers.
